New MyCiTi stop proposed in Atlantis

The City of Cape Town intends to introduce a new MyCiTi stop in the Atlantis network. The proposed new stop, called Nicobar, would be located at the intersection of Meermin and Nicobar Streets.
Return of N2 express brings much relief to commuters

A few thousand residents from Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha commuted on the N2 Express service within the first nine days of the service’s return to the Metro-south east. A total of 11 502 passengers from both Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha commuted on the N2 Express buses from 19 February to 28 February 2022.
Passengers, bus driver safe after MyCiTi bus caught fire

At around 15:15 today, 22 February 2022, the City was informed that a MyCiTi bus was on fire at the Woodstock MyCiTi station. The fire brigade was called out for assistance. We can confirm that nobody was injured and that an investigation is underway to determine the causes.

City, N2 Company getting fleet ready for N2 Express bus service

The City and the N2 Company are busy getting the fleet ready for the N2 Express bus service that will resume operations later this month. Preparations for D-day include inspecting and servicing the buses, and preparing the fleet for roadworthy testing and licensing.
MyCiTi service records 19% increase in passenger trips

Life in Cape Town is slowly returning to normal. The number of passenger trips recorded on the MyCiTi bus service for the last quarter of 2021 has increased with over 19% when compared with the same period in 2020 when South Africa faced harsh lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
N2 Express service back on the road next month

This afternoon, 20 January 2022, the City of Cape Town has signed a new operating contract with the N2 Company, equally owned by Lisekhonikamva (Codeta) from Khayelitsha, Mitchells Plain Rapid Transit (Route Six from Mitchells Plain), and Golden Arrow Bus Services (Gabs). This is a major achievement that will see the N2 Express buses return to Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha by February 2022.

Free Atlantis shuttle to get vaccinated this month

Atlantis residents are encouraged to make use of a special, free MyCiTi service to get vaccinated at the Saxonsea Community Hall from 6 to 24 December 2021.
