In terms of scale, reach and budget, Phase 2 of the MyCiTi service – dubbed the Lansdowne/Wetton Corridor – will eclipse all former public transport infrastructure projects embarked upon by the City of Cape Town. Once rolled out, it will transform the lives of at least 1,4 million people living in the metro south-east and the southern suburbs.

The bus driver strike is over and all services are operating as normal again.
Kiosk changes - 1 November 2014

Kiosk operating hours will change and underused kiosks will be closed and staff moved to service new stations that are opening. The following kiosks will cease to operate: Granger Bay, Grey, Janssens, Killarney, Lagoon Beach, Milnerton, Paarden Eiland, Porterfi eld, Potsdam, Royal Ascot, Sandown, Section, Stadium and Sunset Beach.
Illegal strike by bus drivers continuing

Despite a meeting earlier today between some of the bus drivers and the management at Kidrogen, a MyCiTi vehicle operating company (VOC), the illegal strike is continuing into the afternoon peak hours, affecting the MyCiTi service in Table View, Atlantis, Melkbosstrand and Century City.

The City of Cape Town today, 20 October 2014, became the first multi-modal enabled city in Africa, with the launch of the Transport for Cape Town (TCT) mobile application (app). This app is the first of its kind on the continent to merge the timetables, stops and stations of all the scheduled public transport services in a city, enabling residents and visitors to effortlessly plan their journeys across Cape Town, either through using bus and rail or a route planner for private vehicles.
