The City of Cape Town launched its MyCiTi mobile application four months ago. Since the launch, over 21 000 commuters have downloaded the app and the site has been accessed more than 430 000 times. The journey planner and timetables are very popular as it allows commuters to plan their journeys with real time information at hand.

The 2019 festive season is here and MyCiTi has made special arrangements to suit the needs of residents and visitors over this period. The City of Cape Town is encouraging holiday makers to take advantage of the longer bus operating hours and additional routes which have been put in place specifically for the holiday period.

MyCiTi boasts new direct route from Atlantis to Sea Point

The City continuously monitors the routes and travel patterns of the customers on its MyCiTi bus service and from time to time implements adjustments to respond to commuters’ needs. One of the most recent and successful adjustments has been the introduction of the new 115 route, which is an extension from the Atlantis T02 route and connects commuters directly to Sea Point via the Grand Parade.
City secures R300 million Dutch-funding for public transport in Khayelitsha

Today Council gave the City the greenlight to sign an agreement with the Dutch Government whereby the City of Cape Town’s Transport Directorate will receive R300 million of grant funding over the next five to ten years to improve public transport for our commuters from Khayelitsha and Nyanga.
Walkways at MyCiTi stations in Atlantis and Table View now covered

The MyCiTi stations in Atlantis and Table View now have roofing over the walkways and glass panels. The glass panels have been positioned to cover the side of the walkways so that commuters are protected from rain.
