Residents and road users in Mitchells Plain are advised of temporary traffic flow changes from June 2024 for approximately nine months to accommodate construction for the next phase of MyCiTi bus services.

Work will impact traffic flow along Stock Road/AZ Berman Drive between the Nduli and Petunia Street intersections.

Both lanes serving traffic toward the R300 will be closed to traffic. The two lanes serving traffic in the opposite direction (toward Mitchells Plain central) will accommodate traffic in both directions. See map for details.

Public transport stops along the affected stretch will not be accessible to commuters during construction. Temporary poles will be placed along the reconfigured road to make it safe and convenient for passengers to board and exit during construction.

A temporary walkway and a pedestrian crossing with signalised traffic lights and signage will help people navigate safely on foot and avoid the construction area.

The planned work will result in lengthier travel times for motorists in the area, who are urged to plan their travel, factor in extra travel time and to follow the signage to help keep traffic moving safely.
