Reduced fares from 1 October 2024
2024-08-29
There will be some relief for passengers from 1 October 2024 when MyCiTi fares will decrease in response to sustained decreases in the cost of fuel.
The change is required in terms of the City of Cape Town’s annual budget, which allows for an increase or decrease in fares when the cost of diesel changes significantly. This protects passengers from paying too much if the cost of fuel is reduced and protects the City from ongoing losses if the cost continues to increase significantly.
