MyCiTi service operates again
2017-04-18
The City of Cape Town wants to inform all commuters that the MyCiTi service is in operation again.
The City was informed that a wage agreement was reached on 14 April 2017 and that the national bus drivers’ strike has come to an end.
As such, the MyCiTi service resumed operations from 15 April 2017.
‘Passengers should please note that it may take a few hours for the service to settle in, meaning there may be some initial delays on some of the routes. We expect that the service will normalise and that most buses will adhere to the weekend time schedule as the day continues. I want to thank commuters for their patience during the strike and ask them to please bear with us as we get the service up to full speed again tomorrow,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport and Urban Development, Councillor Brett Herron.
Commuters can contact the Transport Information Centre 24/7 on 0800 65 64 63 for the latest information regarding the service, or follow @MyCiTibus on Twitter, or visit the facebook page, ‘MyCiTi Integrated Rapid Transit System’.
