Go places with MyCiTi’s new OPT packages

MyCiTi is about so much more than getting to work and back. Now you can travel as much as you want.

Load a one-day package for R36 (OPT1) or a three-day package for R105 (OPT3) onto your myconnect card at any MyCiTi station kiosk. Start your package immediately or choose a preferred start date, and then hop aboard to explore the city without worries.

OPT packages can be used any time on weekends and public holidays. Travel anywhere (except the Airport), as many times as you wish.

Take advantage of your OPT package on weekdays by simply starting your journey anytime from 09:00 until end of service, except between 16:00 and 18:00.

The new OPT1 and OPT3 packages provide the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the many places to visit and things to do along our routes. There’s so much to see and do.

Explore the city’s historic heart – from Greenmarket Square to the Grand Parade, the Bo-Kaap, Castle and District Six and the Company’s Garden. Take a picnic to the Green Point Urban Park or unwind in the entertainment zones of Long and Kloof streets. Take a sunset trip up Table Mountain, visit the V&A Waterfront or Canal Walk in Century City, two of Africa’s premier shopping and leisure destinations, play on the beach at Hout Bay or cool down in sparkling waters at Camps Bay, the Sea Point Pavilion or Bloubergstrand.

Planning your journey is a breeze with the easy-to-use trip planner on our website, which provides detailed directions and which can also be accessed from a smartphone.

For regular MyCiTi passengers, the off-peak packages are just another way to enjoy your favourite mode of transport. You can load one on your myconnect card in addition to Mover or Standard, or a monthly travel product.
