Make the most of all Cape Town has to offer this festive season with MyCiTi, the convenient, reliable way to explore the city.
Thousands of visitors and Capetonians will take advantage of the holidays to go shopping, head to the beach or attend some of the many festive events taking place around the city. Save yourself the hassle of sitting in traffic and finding somewhere legal to park by taking a MyCiTi bus.
If you haven’t already bought a myconnect card and experienced the comfort and convenience of MyCiTi, then this is the ideal time to relax, kick back and hop aboard.
During the festive season, MyCiTi adjusts its services to make sure that more people have a chance to maximise the holiday experience.
Go shopping
During December, MyCiTi will also be extending its hours to assist shoppers taking advantage of late-night shopping at the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk shopping centres. There will be extra trips after 22:00 on several routes. From the Waterfront, there will be extra buses on T01 to Table View and Dunoon, 214 to Parklands, 104 to Sea Point, D01 to Khayelitsha East and D04 to Kapteinsklip in Mitchells Plain. There will also be later buses on routes 251, T03 and T04.

Spend a day at the beach
There will also be extra buses to and from popular beaches on December 16, 25, 26, 27 and 31 and 1 and 2 January 2017. These will operate between Civic Centre station and Camps Bay (107), between Hout Bay and town via Sea Point (108), and between Table View, the Blouberg beachfront and Melkbosstrand (217).

Commuter services
Between 19 December and 6 January there will be reduced services for the quieter peak periods on routes T01, T03, T04, 114, 108 and 109. From 28 December to 6 January, every second peak bus on the Khayelitsha East – Civic Centre route will be cancelled. The D03 Mitchells Plain East – Civic Centre route will also be cancelled, with passengers using the D04 route instead.

Celebrate New Yearâs Eve
Cheer in 2017 in the central city and the V&A Waterfront and make use of MyCiTi’s extended services. Additional buses will operate between 22:00 and 02:00 on selected routes at intervals of 20 to 30 minutes. The last bus will leave the Waterfront to Table View and Usasaza (T01) at 01:00, from Civic Centre to Camps Bay (107) at 01:00, from Table View station to Melkbosstrand (217) at 01:00, and from Table View station to Parklands (214) at 02:00.
