Did you know your closest stop is your gateway to the system?

MyCiTi’s fare system allows you to travel across the network of routes by transferring at bus stops and stations. This means you pay a single fare from start to your destination, based on the distance you travel.
Transfer within a station by moving from one platform to the next without tapping. For example, if you are travelling from Century City to Hout Bay, tap in at Century City station and take the T04 to Omuramba station. Transfer within the station to route 260 and then again at Civic Centre station to route 108. Tap out only when you get off the bus at the Hout Bay stop. Provided your journey is within 2.5 hours, you will be charged for the 30-40km distance band.
Transfer at a bus stop by tapping out as you exit the bus and tapping in again within 45 minutes. For example, tap in at the Century Rail stop on route 262 and tap out to transfer to route 260 if you live in Tijgerhof. As long as you are within the 45 minutes allowed, you will be charged for a single journey for the distance you’ve travelled.
In this way, you can use the various stops and stations in the system to access all of Cape Town’s top attractions. Use our handy trip planner on the website to start planning your journey and get connected!
