Check your card
Some myconnect cards expire in January 2017. If the expiry date on the front of your card says “01/17” then replace your card before 31 January 2017.
Don’t leave it to the last minute – visit any station kiosk as soon as you have used up your value and replace your card.
If you still have value on your card, replace your card and transfer the value immediately at kiosks in Zone 1 and Zone 3 at Civic Centre station or the kiosk at Table View and Atlantis stations.
A. Replace your card only
- Complete the application form.
- Check your card at a station info terminal for your card balance, and clear any outstanding penalties.
- Visit any station kiosk with the completed form, your expiring card and R20 in cash.
- You will receive your new myconnect card and can start loading value for travel.
B. Replace your card AND transfer value
- Complete the application form.
- Visit the Zone 3 station kiosk at Civic Centre or the kiosks at Table View and Atlantis stations with the completed form, your expiring card and R20 in cash.

*Additional terms and conditions may apply.
What happens if I donât replace my card by 31 January 2017?
- On 1 February 2017, your expired card will not work.
- You can still replace it at a cost of R20, but you will have to wait 30 days for money loaded as Standard to be transferred from the expired card to your new card.
Replacing multiple cards
If there is more than one card expiring in your household, then one person can replace all of them, provided there is a completed signed application form for each expiring card.
TIP: Save time. Fill out the application form before visiting the kiosk.
