Passenger safety and courtesy is a top priority for MyCiTi. The Transport Enforcement Unit is tasked with overseeing safety on MyCiTi buses and stations and ensuring that the MyCiTi rules are followed, so that our passengers can enjoy a worry-free journey.
From time to time, the unit has even reunited passengers with lost items, including an expensive camera that was recently returned to a tourist who forgot it on the bus. The unit, despite their limited resources, engages with schools to ensure that learners understand the MyCiTi rules, which has reduced the incidence of bad behaviour, not observing the rules and damage to the buses.
Vandalism is taken very seriously and there is a special team that ensures that our buses and shelters are free from graffiti so that all our passengers can enjoy their MyCiTi experience.
As a smart passenger, you too can help by following the rules and being respectful and considerate towards fellow passengers. This includes not being drunk or rowdy on the bus, not eating or drinking on the bus and not smoking at shelters. Examples of smart passenger behaviour include remembering to move towards the exit in good time before reaching your stop, and giving up your seat for a pregnant or elderly person who needs it.
