MyCiTi driver saves the day

When an elderly passenger left her handbag on the 114 bus in Sea Point, driver Didi Mpyanaga, came to the rescue. “When I arrived at Queens Beach station, one of the passengers alerted me to the fact that a bag had been left behind,” recalls Mpyanaga, who has worked for MyCiTi since 2012.

Myanaga handed the bag in at the bus depot, where staff managed to contact the owner. “She came the next day to collect it, and I happened to be there so she thanked me very much,” he said.

Passengers are advised to take good care of their possessions. In the unfortunate event of leaving something behind, they should contact the Transport Information Centre on 0800 65 64 63 to report it.
